Opening hours and info

The upcoming biennial will spread across three distinct venues: the unique maritime setting of Vallisaari Island, HAM Helsinki Art Museum’s Tennis Palace premises, and Esplanade Park in the heart of Helsinki.

Vallisaari Island

Vallisaari Island features Helsinki Biennial artworks by 25 artists or collectives. Some of the outdoor works can be experienced outside the regular opening hours.

The exhibition on Vallisaari Island is free of charge. There is a fee for the ferry.

Vallisaari Island is only a 25-minute ferry ride from Helsinki’s Market Square. The Market Square is easy to reach on foot or by public transport.

Exceptions in the opening hours

HAM features Helsinki Biennial artworks by 15 artists or collectives.

There is a museum admission fee for the biennial exhibition at HAM.

Esplanade Park is located in the heart of Helsinki, just a few minutes’ walk from the Central Railway Station and Market Square. The park is easy to reach on foot, by bike, or by public transport.
