Welcome to participate in a discussion led by the curators of the Helsinki Biennale. You will hear more about the artists’ practises and art works.
Theme – Sheltering knowledges: Pluriverses, cosmovisions and vernacular creativity.
In the pluriverse we inhabit, how might ancestral wisdom and vernacular making serve as platforms for re-evaluating our relationship with planetary heritage? What is the potential of speculation, grounded in non-hegemonic knowledge and subaltern epistemologies, to address the eco-social transition? How can artistic practices incorporate storytelling to reconceptualize the entanglements of art, ecology, and cultural politics? Finally, what experimental incorporations of alternative cosmovisions might help envision more desirable, plural futures?
