Leiko Ikemura (b. 1951, Japan) is an internationally renowned artist based in Berlin, working across painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
Her work is characterized by mystical landscapes, enigmatic portraits, and hybrid beings that exist on the threshold between the real and the mythological. Drawing from both Japanese and European traditions, she creates expressive works that balance abstraction and figuration.
